It's never too late to learn how to play the piano
Emil Vajda began his piano studies at the age of seven with
Hrant Minassian
in his hometown of
Island Park, New York. During high school he continued his studies with
Jack Chaikin
, a
graduate of the Juilliard School.
Mr. Vajda attended Hofstra University where he received
a B.A. in Music in 1979. At Hofstra, he studied piano with
Blanche Abram
and
Morton Estrin
.
After graduating from Hofstra, Mr. Vajda moved into Manhattan and continued his piano studies
with
Elena Wolkonsky
at the Juilliard School. Elena Wolkonsky had been a student of the great
piano pedagogue
Isabelle Vengerova
.
Mr. Vajda also studied with Adam Aleksander, concert pianist.
