It's never too late to learn how to play the piano

Emil Vajda began his piano studies at the age of seven with Hrant Minassian in his hometown of Island Park, New York. During high school he continued his studies with Jack Chaikin , a graduate of the Juilliard School.

Mr. Vajda attended Hofstra University where he received a B.A. in Music in 1979. At Hofstra, he studied piano with Blanche Abram and Morton Estrin .

After graduating from Hofstra, Mr. Vajda moved into Manhattan and continued his piano studies with Elena Wolkonsky at the Juilliard School. Elena Wolkonsky had been a student of the great piano pedagogue Isabelle Vengerova .

Mr. Vajda also studied with Adam Aleksander, concert pianist.
